Hu Knows Noses

Of all your facial features, your nose defines your identity the most. Your eyes, lips, cheeks, even forehead and chin frame the nose as it sits in the center of your face. Your nose provides information about your heritage and history. And so, even the slightest of changes to the nose can dramatically change your identity. Because of this, Dr. Hu is extremely sensitive to her patient's needs and desires with rhinoplasty.

Rhinoplasty is surgery that involves any external change to the nose. This may include changing the size of the nose, the width of the bridge, humps or depressions of the nose, the contours of the nasal tip, the shape and size of the nostrils.

It is important to have clear goals for rhinoplasty. Everyone’s face is unique and Dr. Hu believes in achieving balance and symmetry between the nose and other facial features. As a facial plastic surgeon, it is also of utmost importance to Dr. Hu to maintain structural integrity and function of the nose. At the center of any rhinoplasty for Dr. Hu, is always considering the functional role of breathing. As any compromise in nasal breathing carries the potential of serious consequences with one's health in the future.

PRICING for rhinoplasty depends on several factors: extent, previous surgery which may increase complexity, length of anesthesia. For surgical rhinoplasty, total cost can range from $3000 - $6500.

If you are not quite ready to delve into surgery, or unsure of your desired end result, non-surgical rhinoplasty procedures with dermal fillers may also be an option.

DID YOU KNOW: If you have significant breathing problems and structural issues with your nose – for example, have ever had a significant nasal fracture or injury, or born with a nasal deformity and significant breathing problems – insurance may cover rhinoplasty for medical reasons. Each insurance policy has different criteria for coverage. The best thing to do would be to schedule a consultation for assessment and inquiry of your insurance.
